MECAL

Italian Built Machinery for Aluminum, PVC, and Light Alloy Fabricaiton

CNC Machining Centers. Double Miter Saws. Complete Fabrication Lines. Engineered in Italy. Supported Here.

Mecal Machinery has spent over 45 years building the machines that aluminum fabricators rely on. Mecal offers a variety of products varying from single double miter saws to fully automated fabrication line producing windows, curtain walls, and structural profiles around the clock. Designed and manufactured in Frascarolo, Italy, with a US operation in South Bend, Indiana, Mecal brings Italian engineering to North American fabricators backed by local sales and support through Carlson Fabrication Solutions.

Why Mecal?

Nearly every component is designed and manufactured in their own facility in Frascarolo, Italy, including their proprietary control software. When something needs attention, there is one company that knows every piece of that machine from the ground up. That shows up in quality, reliability and service life.

  • In business since 1978, headquartered in Frascarolo, Italy

  • 150 plus employees, 60,000 sq meter facility

  • 30 international patents

  • Proprietary control software built and maintained entirely in house

  • Official equipment supplier to Europe’s largest aluminum extrusion and systems manufacturer

  • Mecal USA fully operational in South Bend, Indiana for sales, parts and support

CNC Machining Centers

The core of what Mecal does. 3, 4 and 5-axis centers for drilling, milling, tapping, slotting and cutting aluminum extrusion, light alloys, PVC and light steel profiles. The range covers entry-level machines that outperform what you’d expect at the price, all the way up to heavy-duty gantry centers built for curtain wall and aerospace work where tight tolerances on large profiles are non-negotiable.

3 and 4 Axis Machining Centers

The production workhorses. Built for shops running windows, doors, partitions, curtain wall components or industrial profiles day in and day out. Pick the bed length, the spindle power and the axis count that matches your production.

  • Heavy-duty gantry frame for demanding work on aluminum, steel, and more. This machine doesn’t flex when the cut gets tough. 315 inch machining length, 25.6 x 11.8 inch cross-section, 8.5 to 10 kw spindle, 12-tool magazine.

  • Wide clamping capacity. Load a full door frame or a garage sandwich panel and machine it complete in one setup. 315 inch bed, 25.6 x 11.8 inch cross-section, 5.5 to 7.5 kw spindle, 8-tool magazine. Built for fenestration shops that need flexibility without giving up accuracy.

  • 150 m per min on the X axis. If cycle time is your bottleneck, this is the machine to look at. 315 inch machining length, 8.5 kw spindle, 11-tool magazine. Runs fast and holds tolerance. That combination is hard to find at this price point.

  • Mecal USA’s best selling machine. Compact 4-axis center for shops that need full CNC capability without a full-length footprint. 157 inch machining length, 9.8 x 7.9 inch cross-section, 6 to 8.5 kw spindle, 10-tool magazine.

  • Same 150 m per min X-axis speed as the Gianos in a shorter format. 157 inch bed, 8.5 kw spindle, 10-tool magazine. For high-volume shops running shorter profiles where throughput is the priority.

  • Automatic clamp positioning set by the spindle. No operator setup time between jobs. 126 inch machining length, 3.8 to 5.5 kw spindle, 5-tool magazine. Compact, efficient and reliable for shops running consistent profiles at steady volume.

  • Manual clamp setting with laser indicator for positioning. 114 inch machining length, 3.8 to 5.5 kw spindle, 5-tool magazine. The most accessible entry point in the Mecal lineup. Real CNC capability without overbuying.

5 Axis Machining Centers

When the profile is complex, the angle is compound or the tolerances are aerospace-tight, 4-axis is not enough. The Mecal 5-axis lineup handles curtain wall mullions, structural aerospace extrusions and anything else that needs full 5-axis freedom on a long profile.

  • Fully enclosed machining environment. 315 inch machining length, 11.8 x 9 inch cross-section, 10 kw spindle, 12-tool magazine, up to 300 mm integrated saw blade. When you need 5-axis precision with a contained work area.

  • The curtain wall machine. Gantry structure locks in stability and tolerances on large profiles that would flex a lighter machine. 315 inch machining length, 19.7 x 11.8 inch cross-section, 10 kw spindle, 12-tool magazine, up to 450 mm saw blade. If you fabricate curtain wall or window wall systems, this is the machine the job calls for.

  • Top of the lineup. 340 inch machining length, 21.6 x 11.8 inch cross-section, 12 kw spindle, 18-tool magazine, up to 500 mm saw blade. Built for the largest profiles and the most demanding applications across aluminum, light alloys and steel. When the job needs more than anything else in the catalog can deliver, this is the answer.
